Children at St. Lambert United Church

St. Lambert United Church welcomes families and encourages even the youngest of our members to participate.  As such, the beginning portion of the service is planned with them in mind.  Following the Children’s Time story, children and teachers leave the service to attend Sunday School.

Sunday School

The 3 to 5 year old group

 Teacher:  Anetra Staver

 Curriculum:  Bible Quest

The children in the 3 to 5 year old group learn about God through Bible stories, crafts, games and songs.  For some children, this is their first group experience and may be a little intimidating.  In order to make it an easier transition, parents are welcome to stay with their child while he/she adjusts to the new situation.

The 6 to 8 year old group

Teachers:  Sylvia Rawus & Darla Butler

Curriculum:  Bible Quest

This group learns about God through Bible stories, crafts, word games and discussion.   Learning about things like right and wrong, being the best we can be and being what God wants us to be, are often the focus of this group.

The 9 to 11 year old group

Teacher:  Cathy Wright-Arribaja

Curriculum:  Bible Quest

Children at this stage of faith development are often just beginning to explore what Christianity means to them personally.  This group focuses on a Bible reading each week, followed by discussions and either a craft or a word game.

The 12 + group

Teacher:  Jai Mongiovi

This group focuses on real world issues that teens face today, and how to apply Christian values in handling these situations.  Modern media and pop culture are used as tools to help teens understand social pressures and how best to deal with them.  Many of the teens in this class also participate in our Youth Group.
